The Sarah Stewart Bovard Memorial Library in Tionesta, PA is seeking candidates for a Library Director to begin paid training in July 2023, with the position itself beginning January 1, 2024.

About Us

In 1959, Roy L. Bovard bequeathed funds to build and equip a library in Tionesta in memory of his mother, Sarah Stewart Bovard.  The new building was dedicated on September 20, 1964 and, in 1993, a children’s wing was added.  Today, the Sarah Stewart Bovard Memorial Library is a small community library in the Seneca District and is a landmark in beautiful midtown Tionesta.  Here, on the western edge of the Allegheny National Forest where the Tionesta Creek meets the Wild and Scenic Allegheny River, we serve a mix of residents, seasonal campers, and visitors.  Our mission is to promote literacy and offer a safe, comfortable place for people to read or work.  We offer a surprisingly large selection of books and materials for people of all ages.  We also offer free Wi-Fi, public access computers, and printers.  Our library is supported by an active friends’ group, Friends of the Tionesta Public Library.

Minimum of two years of college with nine hours in library science.  Tuition assistance for library science credits is available. Criminal background clearances are a state requirement upon hire.
